I was reading something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your linear perspective on it is diametrically opposed to what I read in the first place. I am still mulling over the diverse points of view, but I'm leaning heavily toward yours. And regardless, that's what is so super about contemporary democracy and the marketplace of ideas online.

Very. I've never noticed that when I have been in the U.S., or when speaking with Americans. You guys are strange. :P

Haha, interesting question. I would say "an HD television" and I think most Americans would do the same. Strange, isn't it?

So if you were to say, " HD television" would you say "a HD television" or "an HD television"?

Thanks for the correction about footy, I thought it could mean either rugby or AFL. I have yet to see an AFL game but I hope to see the Sydney Swans play soon.

Americans say 'period' quite often, but I've never heard anyone use 'full stop' in conversation until I came here.

With the letter 'H' we pronounce it 'aitch' without the leading soft h sound.

Also, I've never noticed the different between the way American's pronounce H and they way Aussies do. How do Americans say it? Aussies tend to pronounce it 'hay-tch.'

Footy is not rugby. Rugby is rugby and footy is football, which is AFL.

Also, with the 'full stop thing,' Aussies often say 'period,' which is synonymous to the 'full stop' thing. Don't they say 'period' or 'full stop' elsewhere?
